Joyeux Noel!

As 2011 comes to a dramatic conclusion, I have to admit it was a amazing year. Refinishing our kitchen, getting engaged, getting married, as well as traveling to Jamaica, Cape May, and finally to the amazing city of lights, Paris. Closing out the year with our trip to this insanely magnificent city has left me feeling inspired and very excited for what is to come next. Cheers to 2012!

My own wedding goodies

Finally after much anticipation, I have my own wedding goodies to share!!!

Our wedding was an extremely memorable weekend for many reasons. One of which was the rare October snow blizzard that left millions with out power, and 22 people dead. But I digress. After the freak storm passed, we handed our guests a cup of hot apple cider to warm their hands, and had a truly beautiful rustic Autumn wedding with lots of pumpkins, homemade details, mind blowing food, and joyous dancing fools.

All photographs in this post were taken by Morrissey Photo

Those candles are for more then decoration, we had no electricity!

Since I am literally obsessed with black and white stripes, I designed these beautiful pearl and onyx bracelets for my girls with pearl guru Mary Pat Wilkson: http://www.thepearlgirlonline.com

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed making boutonnieres! My creative team and I spent the summer acquiring antique silver buttons (the name of the venue was Silver Buttons Farm) to use on the boutonnieres as well as the favors.

Instead of numbered tables we decided to use autumnal sweets to name the tables. (Cinnamon Stick, Candy Corn, Apple Cider, Maple Syrup, Cranberry Jam, Pumpkin Pie, Ginger Snap, and so on)

It felt really great to make a donation to a cause near and dear to our hearts, Philadelphia animal welfare.
I plan on making this an annual event we will do together on our anniversary. http://www.phillypaws.org

A million thanks to our amazingly accommodating vendors who made snowy barn wedding a truly amazing unforgettable event!

U+ME=FUN

Since I had such a fun time at my bachelorette party, I decided to whip up a special thank you card for my lovely ladies.
This cheerful greeting could also be used as an invitation to a special event!

Boutonnières and Silver Buttons

After little snooping into the history of our wedding venue, we found out the current owner named the farm “Silver Buttons” because way back when the original owner passed away his personal estate included not just this incredible property, but also 12 silver buttons.

So we decided to incorporate just a few more antique silver buttons into our boutonnières and favors. Not one button is the same!

Save the Date!

The day I have been dreaming of since I was a little girl…. No not my wedding day silly, the day I get to design my save the date! The piece was actually inspired by some old art nouveau bookplates that I came across.

This 2 color, letter pressed piece is an envelope that has a die-cut frame on one side which showcases our engagement photo. Our date and information is printed on the other side. Printing was done by the lovely people at www.riseandshinepaper.com, and photography was shot by our super awesome friend Paul.

New Font!

Below is a font I created to use on my own wedding pieces. It’s an homage to my current favorite stylistic period obsession. Inspired by my vintage 1920s engagement ring, and a honeymoon in Paris….

Kerry & Theresa Invitation Suite

Kerry and Theresa will be celebrating their 1950s retro wedding surrounded by a huge collection original mid-century cars at the Antique Automobile Club this summer. www.aacamuseum.org

These vintage inspired designs playfully harken back to a more innocent time when sweethearts would share a milkshake down at the corner malt shop, which there is a replica of inside the museum!
